My Bio
Don't look back, baby.

The isles of Kisoku were often known as ‘the belly of the phoenix’. Be it because it was a center for mass weaponry and ship-part production for the Imperial fleet, its strict, down-to-business Imperialistic ways that no revolution or pretty words and activist actions could move, or simply because of the many volcanoes around its borders and on its land. Kisoku is not a small nation, nor is it weak; it’s known for its many Imperial war heroes and its incredibly strong military contributions. They strictly regulate the caste system, and how it is followed; however, drafts are held every time new batches of wrigglers worm from the brooding caverns to choose new factory workers, for the many, many, MANY metalworking factories on its shores.

Though lowbloods are valued because of their strong psychic powers (excepting limebloods, who are, as custom, slaughtered, and hunted down by any means necessary, along with mutants), they aren’t strong physically, nor in terms of lifespan. Thus, the unfortunate catch of its dutiful caste following is that even highbloods are taken to work at young ages. The only exceptions there are indigobloods, and seadwellers; however, they are set to work as well if an indigoblood or a seadweller is chosen, generally in overseeing the labor in the factories, or schoolfeeding wrigglers who aren’t drafted to work.

The lucky ones get to lead normal lives of their castes, either in laps of luxury or in pure poverty. With blistering hot seasons, even in the winter, the climate and weather of Kisoku were volatile and harsh, and the isles became known as one of the best examples of survival of the fittest. Kisoku is also known for its mountainous land and traditional architecture. Surprisingly, nothing is actually made out of metal except for the factories, and it’s actually very scenic and known for having very, very nice beaches, as well as geological sites for any tourists that (again, surprisingly) come through the nation.

At a young age, Dateok was one of many wrigglers from the sea-bound, industrial nation of Kisoku to be taken from his lusus to work in the metalworks factories making weapons and ship parts for the military. Kisoku’s metal plants didn’t give a heck what the color of your blood was when they took a troll in, unless it was some shade of purple, or fish-face violet. As long as you worked, you were valuable. There’s not much to say about his life before this happened — he’d been able to make it out of the brooding caverns in one piece, get a rad lusus and get on his merry way. But the moment he was put into the factories, he was worked to the bone with little instruction. However, he learned quickly, especially from any older trolls, who were mostly lowbloods who had been enslaved to work until they died, aside from many highbloods who, when they were seen as ready, were shipped off to the fleets in the stars to do further, better-paying work.

He made many friends and connections with people in that factory. He would grow up being tolerant of many bloods lower than him, and also grow up fully enlightened to how unjust the Imperial world was. However, he would also live knowing that he, as only one person, couldn’t help the masses, even if he wanted to try — he knew full well that rebellion meant death. So, Dateok grew up quietly, working away to someday reach a better life; after all, maybe someday, he’d find his way out of this Imperial loop and find his own path.

Dateok, at the ripe age of seven sweeps, was shipped to the fleet on good behavior, and skilled working hands. There, he was given proper education, both in Alternian history and Imperial militarism, and so on and so forth. Every day was study, work, study, work. He excelled in what he did, and only half a sweep into his work, he was working on ships, carriers, weapons — the works. However, he still wasn’t satisfied with where he was.

Every time he looked out to see the stars of space around him, he yearned to get off the large battleship he was stationed on, and away from all these robots and metal-hearted trolls. Anyone would have been broken in by the military, stripped of whatever will they had … but Dateok’s hope came from history, despite the utter demonization of one of his role models, someone they called the ‘Phantasm’. He was said to be a wicked sort of revolutionary, one who briefly brought a new era of peace into a large portion of the East — however, this peace, he learned, had been quickly snuffed out in a couple centuries’ time, and the Phantasm was said to have been killed by Imperial execution. This is where Dateok found his hope, considering the Phantasm, from a young age, like himself, had been forced to do Imperial bidding, before breaking away to find a better tomorrow. With that in mind, he worked harder to hone his skills… and one day break free of the shackles of his military life.

Come the ninth sweep of his life, Dateok finally decided to make his move. From the last rounds of his seventh sweep, he’d worked in anticipation of the day he could finally break away, making modifications to a sleek, small air craft and a larger carrier in secret to make sure it wouldn’t be tracked when he did. They’d been moved to be scrapped, making it easy for him to modify them as he pleased in solitude — it was like taking candy from a baby, surprisingly, especially since he found ways to improve all the things wrong with both ships and add special features to the flier. The loading into the carrier was easy business… it would be getting the carrier with its living and non-living cargo out that was hard. Naturally, there was only one way out, as far as Dateok was concerned — it was a reckless approach, but once the hatch to the battleship was opening to let more cargo on, Dateok got the hell out of dodge fast, even if he had to do some major property damage, and probably damage to other people.

Of course, Dateok would never make it out of the fray unscathed. He was pursued from the get-go as he hauled ass towards Alternia again, and things looked grim… so what did he do to lose them? He blew himself up, duh. Unfortunately, he was unable to eject on time, and was send crash-landing down onto Alternia. Miraculously, he didn’t die, though he had some hefty burns to the left side of his body and some temporary hearing loss, but the Imperials considered retrieval a lost cause, and hecked off thanks to his recklessness. Dateok wasn’t alone in this moment, though, being found by Akadea Saseru, who both saved his life, and his ships. The two became friends quickly, and Dateok became rather familiar with Kuroi Kantai, the organization founded by the jadeblood. With their help, he was able to get back on his feet (with a new name, of course) and back to modifying, fixing, and improving his carrier (which he was able to size down a fraction to become a proper living space) and flier (which became his hella sick racer).

Until the last cycles of his eleventh sweep, Dateok was a racer, with some criminal and fugitive-catching (and housing?) on the side. He tore through the ranks easily, taking on hundreds of racers and still coming out on top, only growing in skill as the sweeps passed. However, the fame soon became almost suffocating, so he retreated to his slightly less famous profession of being a bounty hunter.
